I am done with Roche Diagnostics, a company I really loved for their molecular tests and the team spirit! The latest products are like bananas: They mature at the customer. Today they play with the labs and they offer poor service. So, hi you labs out there: Play back this ball: Everybody knows that Roche pays for their diagnostic studies. After everybody knew that SeptiFast was crap they had to increase the rates. From 2007 to 2009 the standard “out-of-pocket expenses” rate was 200 euro, later increased to 1,000 Euro (no documents for standard out-of-pocket expenses required).
After 2009 the standard rate exploded for blood studies, now they pay up to 2,500 per patient and for endocarditis studies you may ask for up to 4,000 per patient. In France, I experienced a “success fee” for a good publication. (High rank journal, very positive results, no conflict of interest to be published).
So, you researchers out there: No need to be shy! Reimburse yourself for the crap they sell you…….

I disagree. Fraud pays off in
I disagree. Fraud pays off in diagnostics because service labs behave like lemmings. One starts, the other follow. Pay the lemming-leader, the others will follow …..
I don't think you are saying
I don't think you are saying that the problem is European.
An American pharmaceutical giant has also been culpable.
The focus in never we physicians but instead technology that is inadequate to begin with.
Paying off groups for papers that still end up confining these commercial ideas to only being useful in conjunction with culture is never going to solve the problem no matter how much lipstick you put on it.
The molecular sepsis
The molecular sepsis diagnostic market is currently being developed in Europe and there is quite some competition. North America is somewhat behind due to FDA hurdles. Fraud is easy in diagnostics. After investing millions Roche is forced to gain market share now and willing to pay any price.
Why is there so much fraud in
Why is there so much fraud in sepsis clinical work?
I know everyone plays games but there is not much innovative sepsis work to begin with.
yes, i would call it: data
yes, i would call it: data selection. For studies with desired outcome a success fee was paid....
For the French SF study what
For the French SF study what exactly was being fudged?
Was it patient selection?

We all know, they buy their
We all know, they buy their studies, but who reads these publications?
